OVERVIEW

Compact Powerhouse for the Mobile Welder

When your work takes you to the field, you need a machine that works as hard as you do without weighing you down. The Miller Bobcat 230 (Kohler) Engine Driven Welder is built for the modern mobile welder who demands performance, portability, and reliability. This machine replaces the legendary Bobcat 225, bringing major improvements that make your workday easier. It is significantly lighter and smaller, taking up less space in your truck bed or UTV, and leaving you more room for the tools and materials you need to get the job done.

Simpler and Smoother Operation
Gone are the days of complicated setups. The Bobcat 230 features a revolutionary single-knob control that lets you precisely adjust your output with ease. Whether you are burning 7018 rods for a structural repair or running 6010 for pipe work, you will notice the difference immediately. The arc starts are crisp, the puddle is controllable, and spatter is kept to a minimum. This machine is designed to make you look good, delivering professional results even in challenging field conditions.

Reliable Power Where You Need It
Beyond welding, the Bobcat 230 is a beast of a generator. With 11,000 watts of peak power, it can serve as the primary power source for your entire mobile operation. Run your grinders, drills, lights, and compressors with confidence. Thanks to Miller's advanced engineering, the generator power is independent of the welding arc. This means your helper can be grinding a joint while you are welding, and neither of you will experience a drop in performance. It's built to keep your crew working efficiently.

Maintenance Made Easy
Reliability is key for farm, ranch, and construction work. The Bobcat 230 includes a digital display right on the front panel that tracks fuel levels and engine hours, alerting you when it's time for oil changes or service. This proactive feature helps prevent unexpected breakdowns and keeps your machine running strong for years. Backed by Miller's True Blue 3-year warranty, this is an investment in your business's productivity.

  4. Product meets the needs of our industry

Welder is used at sand plant for structure builds, repairs as well as fabrication. We have had good experience with our last Bobcat 225 so we decided to go with the new Bobcat 230. Ours has 2000 hours and still running but it was time to get new. We are happy with the performance of this welder in such a busy industry.

  5. I would not buy this machine again.

Not satisfied. Fuel gauge didn't work day one. With just 47 hours bolts backed out of rotar/stator now have to wait to get fixed.

  9. I would buy this machine again.

I don't weld that much, first welder lasted 25 years. I use it around the farm welding on pipe fence and other projects. Very impressed with the machine especially on rusty oil field pipe. Strikes an arc very easy on rusty pipe. Machine runs super quiet. I like the fuel gauge, last one didn't have one. Lots of options on settings, especially for someone that doesn't weld that much. Dial gets you close to the setting you need for type and size of rod your using. I chose the Miller Bobcat because of the koler engine. I wouldn't change anything.

  10. Great machine , fuel neck is a horrible design !

I use this for general welding, and powering my house when the power goes out , great compact design and alot quieter then previous models , HOWEVER the engineers should of tried to fill unit with a gas can before they made the fill neck 3/4 in diameter and watch fuel spill everywhere. You have to pour incredibly slow just a fyi .
