For optimal performance, the Size 3 HPN tip requires specific pressure settings. The recommended Cutting Oxygen pressure is 45-50 PSIG, while the Fuel Gas pressure should be set between 5 and 9 PSIG. Operators can expect a cutting speed of approximately 9 to 12 inches per minute on 2.5-inch thick mild steel. The tip consumes preheat oxygen at a rate of 44-240 SCFH, depending on the flame adjustment. Construction and Maintenance

The two-piece design consists of an outer shell and a splined inner member. This architecture is standard for propane/natural gas tips, as the recession of the inner member protects the flame from blowing out and allows for the stable combustion of slower-burning fuel gases. Maintenance involves inspecting the seating surfaces for nicks and cleaning the splines of the inner member with a soft wire brush or appropriate chemical cleaner. Do not use standard wire tip cleaners on the splines, as this may damage the gas passages.
