The Victor Style GPN-P-00 is a high-performance replacement cutting tip designed for oxy-fuel cutting applications utilizing alternate fuel gases, specifically Propane and Natural Gas. Engineered to meet or exceed OEM specifications, this tip provides professional welders and fabricators with a cost-effective solution for precision cutting of mild steel ranging from approximately 1/8 inch to 1/4 inch (3mm - 6mm) in thickness.
Unlike single-piece acetylene tips, this GPN series nozzle utilizes a two-piece design consisting of a brass inner spline and a copper outer shell. This configuration is critical for alternate fuels. Propane and natural gas have lower flame propagation rates than acetylene; the recess created by the outer shell acts as a combustion chamber, anchoring the preheat flame to the tip face. This ensures flame stability even under high-flow oxygen conditions, preventing flame blowout and ensuring consistent preheat transfer to the base metal.
The exterior of the tip features a durable chrome plating. In industrial environments, reflected heat and molten spatter are constant hazards. The chrome finish provides a high degree of reflectivity, reducing heat absorption into the torch head and minimizing the risk of flashback. Additionally, the smooth chrome surface prevents molten slag and spatter from adhering to the nozzle, significantly simplifying maintenance and extending the operational lifespan of the consumable.
This tip is manufactured to standard Victor-style taper specifications, ensuring seamless compatibility with a wide range of cutting attachments (such as the CA1350 and CA2460 series) and straight torches. It is ideal for general fabrication, structural steel work, and scrap cutting where propane is the preferred fuel gas due to its economy and clean-burning properties.
