OVERVIEW

Keep Your Robots Running and Your Welds Clean

For welding operators and shop managers, downtime is the enemy. The Lincoln Electric Power REAM® II fights downtime by taking the hassle out of torch maintenance. Instead of stopping production to manually scrape spatter out of a hot nozzle, this station does it automatically in seconds. By keeping the nozzle clean, it ensures smooth gas flow and reduces the risk of weld defects that require rework.

The Power REAM® II does more than just clean. It includes a built-in wire cutter that snips the wire tip to the perfect length every time. This means when the robot goes to start the next arc, it strikes instantly and cleanly, reducing those frustrating ignition failures. The system also applies a coat of anti-spatter fluid to the nozzle, preventing new spatter from sticking and making the next cleaning cycle even easier.

Designed for the harsh reality of a weld shop, the unit is built tough. It features a Spatter Guard to keep slag out of the machine's moving parts and a Spray Containment system that keeps the anti-spatter fluid where it belongs—on the torch, not all over your equipment or floor. Installing the Power REAM® II is a proactive step towards a cleaner, safer, and more efficient welding operation.

FAQ

Its primary function is to automatically remove spatter build-up from the gas nozzle of a robotic MIG welding torch to maintain proper gas flow.

Yes, it includes a Standard Wire Cutter that trims the welding wire to a consistent stick-out length for better arc starting.

It features a Spray Containment Unit that captures over-spray and a drain-line connection for easy disposal of excess fluid.

This feature sends a signal to the robot controller if the reaming cycle fails or doesn't complete, prompting the robot to stop to prevent damage.

The Spatter Guard prevents hot debris and slag from entering the internal mechanisms of the reamer, protecting it from jamming and wear.

Generally, yes. It is a standalone peripheral that can be integrated with most robotic controllers via standard I/O signals.

Yes, the Power REAM II typically requires a compressed air supply to operate the reaming motor and the sprayer.

By cutting the wire to a precise, sharp point and consistent length, it ensures the electrode is in the optimal condition for the next arc ignition.
