OVERVIEW

3/8" x 50' Grade R Twin Welding Hose Assembly

Maximize the performance of your oxy-acetylene equipment with the Twin Hose Grade R 50Ft 3/8. Designed for industrial applications where standard flow rates fall short, this hose assembly provides the volume necessary for heavy fabrication, demolition, and structural work. The 3/8-inch diameter significantly reduces pressure drop over the 50-foot length, ensuring that your torch receives consistent pressure even during high-demand tasks such as heating thick plate or cutting multi-inch steel.

This assembly is manufactured to Grade R specifications, meaning the liner and cover are formulated for Acetylene gas service. The hose is Siamese-molded (twin line) to keep your workspace organized and reduce tripping hazards compared to separate single lines. The red fuel line is threaded with left-hand threads (indicated by the notched nut), and the green oxygen line features right-hand threads, adhering to safety standards to prevent accidental cross-connection of gases. The brass ferrules are crimped securely to withstand industrial pressures.

Important Safety Note: Grade R hose is strictly for use with Acetylene. If your shop utilizes Propane, Propylene, or Natural Gas, you must use Grade T hose to prevent degradation of the rubber liner. However, for traditional oxy-acetylene users, this Grade R hose provides a robust and reliable connection. The rubber composition remains flexible in various ambient temperatures, resisting kinking that can interrupt gas flow. Whether you are running a scrap yard torch or a heavy manufacturing heating station, this 3/8" hose delivers the fuel and oxygen you need efficiently.

FAQ

Grade R hose is designed specifically for Acetylene gas only. Grade T hose features a neoprene liner that makes it compatible with all fuel gases, including Propane, Natural Gas, MAPP, and Acetylene. Using Propane in a Grade R hose will cause the rubber to rot and leak.

A 3/8 inch hose has a larger internal diameter, allowing for significantly higher gas flow. This is necessary when using large heating tips (rosebuds) or heavy-duty cutting torches that consume more gas than a 1/4 inch hose can supply without starving the flame.

This hose comes with standard B-size fittings (9/16"-18 threads). The oxygen fitting has right-hand threads, and the acetylene fitting has left-hand threads (identified by a notch on the nut).

No. This is a Grade R hose. Propane and other oil-based fuel gases will degrade the rubber liner of Grade R hoses, leading to potential leaks and safety hazards. You need Grade T hose for Propane.

While the hose can technically hold the pressure, it is not recommended. Inert gases usually use different fittings (5/8"-18) and single lines. This is a twin hose designed specifically for oxy-fuel processes.

Standard welding hose is typically rated for a maximum working pressure of 200 PSI, which is well above the standard operating pressures for oxy-acetylene welding and cutting.

No, this product is the hose assembly only. Flashback arrestors are sold separately and are highly recommended to be installed at the torch or regulator end for safety.

The hose is color-coded: Green is for Oxygen, and Red is for the Fuel gas (Acetylene).
