The Tweco® 400 Amp Professional Classic® No. 4 MIG Gun (Part No. 1040-1136) is engineered to meet the rigorous demands of industrial welding environments. This air-cooled system is rated for 400 amps at a 60% duty cycle using CO2 gas, making it suitable for high-deposition MIG (GMAW) and Flux-Cored (FCAW) welding. The assembly includes a 15-foot cable lead that offers excellent wire feedability, terminated with a Miller® style rear connection for seamless integration with Miller power sources and wire feeders.

Construction quality is paramount in the Classic No. 4. The conductor tube features a three-layer design: a copper tube for conductivity, silicon-resin glass insulation for electrical safety, and a robust metal jacket for impact resistance. This 60-degree conductor tube is capable of swiveling a full 360 degrees around the handle, allowing welders to adjust the gun angle for optimal access to complex joints without twisting the cable. To prevent wire feed issues, a steel spring strain relief supports the Cablehoz® as it exits the rear of the handle, protecting the liner and cable from kinking during operation.

The trigger mechanism is built for reliability, featuring silver-plated contacts that provide a self-cleaning action every time the trigger is engaged or disengaged. This ensures immediate arc initiation even in dirty environments. The gun utilizes a fully insulated MIG-Kwik connection for the wire feeder, enabling rapid setup and breakdown. Inside the handle, the mechanical connection between the conductor tube and Cablehoz® maximizes current transfer to the contact tip, ensuring stable arc characteristics.
