The Lincoln Electric KP2744-116AT Contact Tip is designed to solve the specific headaches associated with pushing soft aluminum wire through a MIG gun. While it looks like a standard tip, the internal geometry is precision-drilled to handle the thermal expansion of 1/16-inch aluminum wire. Standard steel tips often grab the wire as it heats up, causing friction that leads to erratic arcs and eventual failure. This 'Aluminum Tapered' tip gives the wire the room it needs to feed smoothly while maintaining the solid electrical contact required for a stable spray transfer arc.

Built with Lincoln's Copper Plus® technology, these tips are beefier than generic replacements. The extra copper mass acts like a heat sink, pulling heat away from the business end of the gun. This means the tip stays cooler, lasts longer, and resists the deformation that ruins aim.
