OVERVIEW

Stop Wire Slippage with the Right Rollers

If you are running flux-cored wire through your Centrefire 305 and dealing with constant feed issues, your drive rolls might be the culprit. Smooth rolls just don't cut it for flux-core—you need the grip of the Drive Roll 2 Roll V-Knurled 035-045. This roller is built with a textured, knurled groove that grabs onto the wire like a gear, pushing it through the torch cable without you having to crank down the tension arm.

Using the wrong roller or a worn-out one leads to flattened wire, clogged liners, and the dreaded bird-nesting at the feeder. This roller is sized perfectly for .035" and .045" wires, the most common sizes for structural and general repair work. It is designed specifically for the 2-roll feed mechanism on the Centrefire 305, making installation quick and hassle-free.

Don't let poor feeding ruin your welds or waste your time clearing jams. Swapping out your drive rolls is one of the cheapest and most effective maintenance tasks you can do. Keep your arc smooth and your wire moving freely with this heavy-duty knurled replacement roll.

  • Prevents wire crushing and deformation.
  • Ensures steady feed speed for consistent welds.
  • Essential for gasless and gas-shielded flux-cored wires.

FAQ

This V-Knurled roll is designed for tubular wires, specifically Flux-Cored (FCAW) and Metal-Cored (MCAW) wires.

It supports wire diameters from .035 inches (0.9mm) to .045 inches (1.2mm).

It is not recommended. V-Knurled rolls can bite into solid wire and create metal shavings that clog liners. Use smooth V-Groove rolls for solid wire.

This drive roll is specified for the Centrefire 305 welding machine.

Flux-cored wire is hollow and softer than solid wire. A knurled roller grips it without needing high tension that would crush the wire.

Replace them when the knurling becomes worn down and the wire starts slipping, or if the groove is damaged.

This is designed for a 2-roll drive system.
