OVERVIEW

Reliable Replacement Teflon Liner for Aluminum MIG Welding

Upgrade or repair your Miller MIG gun with this high-performance Teflon Liner, specifically designed for feeding .030" to .035" aluminum wire. If you are experiencing feed issues, burn-back, or bird-nesting while welding aluminum, the culprit is often an incorrect or worn-out liner. Steel liners are not suitable for aluminum; you need the smooth, non-abrasive surface of Teflon to ensure reliable wire delivery.

This liner is a direct fit for Miller M-Series MIG guns (M-10, M-15, M-25, and M-40), making it an essential consumable for owners of Millermatic 135, 140, 175, 180, 210, 211, and 250/251/252 series welders equipped with these guns. The liner supports the wire along the entire length of the cable, preventing it from buckling under the pressure of the drive rolls. This is particularly important for smaller diameter aluminum wires like .030" and .035", which lack the column strength of steel wire.

To install, simply remove the old liner, unroll the new Teflon liner, and slide it into the gun cable. Ensure the liner is fully seated before trimming any excess at the back end. Using the correct liner is the single most effective way to improve your aluminum MIG welding results without investing in a spool gun. Keep your production line moving and your welds clean with this professional-grade replacement part.

FAQ

Aluminum wire is much softer than steel. A steel liner can shave the aluminum wire, causing clogging and friction. Teflon provides a smooth, low-friction surface that prevents these issues and ensures consistent feeding.

This liner is designed for .030" to .035" (0.8mm to 0.9mm) welding wire.

It is compatible with Miller M-Series MIG guns, including models M-10, M-15, M-25, and M-40.

It is not recommended. Steel wire is abrasive and will wear out the soft Teflon liner very quickly. You should use a steel wound liner for steel wire.

Remove the nozzle, contact tip, and gas diffuser. Remove the old liner from the back of the gun. Insert the new Teflon liner, ensuring it seats fully. Trim the excess length at the back end according to your gun's manual, then reinstall the front-end consumables.

While a spool gun is often best for aluminum, using a Teflon liner in a standard MIG gun is a cost-effective alternative for short distances (usually up to 10-12 feet) and stiffer aluminum alloys.

This is a high-quality aftermarket replacement part designed to meet or exceed the specifications of the original Miller equipment.
