The torch-end of the sleeve is constructed from high-grade leather, providing superior thermal protection against radiant heat, sparks, and minor spatter. This is critical for TIG welding applications where the cable near the handle is often in close proximity to the arc. The remaining length transitions to a high-strength woven nylon.
