OVERVIEW

Don't Guess Your Gas Levels

There is nothing worse than running out of acetylene in the middle of a critical cut or braze. Keep your gear in top shape with this 2.5-inch Replacement Acetylene Gauge. Designed to replace the "tank side" (inlet) gauge on your regulator, this unit reads from 0 to 400 PSI, giving you a clear and accurate indication of how much fuel is left in your cylinder. If your old gauge has a cracked lens, a stuck needle, or has been smashed by a falling object, this is the direct replacement you need to get back to work safely.

Easy to Read, Built to Last

Welding environments are tough on gear. That's why this gauge features a sturdy steel case and a tough polycarbonate lens that won't shatter like glass. The 2.5-inch face is large enough to read from a few feet away, so you can check your pressure without stopping your workflow. The numbers are crisp and black against a white background, ensuring you don't have to squint through smoke or dust to see your levels.

Universal Fit

Worried about compatibility? Don't be. This gauge features the industry-standard 1/4-inch NPT bottom mount thread. This means it fits almost every major brand of acetylene regulator out there. Installation is simple: just use a wrench on the brass stem (never tighten by twisting the case!) and use a little Teflon tape or thread sealant to ensure a leak-free seal. Within minutes, your regulator will look and function like new.

Why 400 PSI?

You might wonder why the gauge goes to 400 PSI when acetylene tanks are usually around 250 PSI. This range is selected to give you the best resolution for reading the tank pressure. A gauge that went up to 4000 PSI (like an oxygen gauge) would make it impossible to tell if you had 200 PSI or 50 PSI left. This gauge puts the needle right in the middle of the sweep when your tank is full, giving you the most accurate "fuel gauge" possible for your oxy-fuel rig.

FAQ

This gauge has a standard 1/4-inch NPT male thread located at the bottom of the case.

No. Oxygen cylinders have pressures up to 2000+ PSI. Using a 400 PSI gauge on an oxygen tank will cause the gauge to burst immediately, which is dangerous. This is for Acetylene only.

This is an inlet gauge, meaning it measures the pressure inside the tank (contents). It reads 0-400 PSI.

Unscrew the old gauge. Apply Teflon tape or thread sealant to the threads of the new gauge. Screw it into the regulator port by hand, then tighten with a wrench using the square brass stem. Do not tighten by gripping the round case.

The dial face is 2.5 inches in diameter.

Gauges are typically selected so that the normal operating pressure falls within the middle third of the scale for best accuracy and safety margin.

The lens is made of polycarbonate (plastic), which is more resistant to impact and shattering than glass.
