Nexalloy ER4943 is a cutting-edge aluminum TIG welding rod engineered to overcome the mechanical limitations of ER4043 while retaining its desirable welding characteristics. For decades, welders have had to choose between the ease of use of 4043 and the strength of 5356. ER4943 eliminates this compromise. It is formulated to be a direct replacement for ER4043 in most applications, offering 25% higher ultimate tensile strength and 50% higher yield strength in the as-welded condition. This makes it an exceptional choice for welding 6061-T6 and other heat-treatable alloys where joint strength is critical.

The 3/32" (2.5mm) diameter rod is precision-manufactured to strict tolerances, ensuring consistent feeding and arc stability. The chemical composition of 4943 includes magnesium and manganese additives that contribute to its superior mechanical properties without negatively impacting fluidity. In fact, many welders report that 4943 flows even better than 4043, producing flat, aesthetically pleasing beads with excellent wetting action.
