The Hobart Fabcor 86R (AWS E70C-6M) is a high-performance metal-cored electrode engineered for single and multiple pass welding of carbon steels. This 5/64" diameter version is a powerhouse for heavy fabrication, offering exceptional current carrying capacity and deposition rates that far exceed solid wires of similar size. It is formulated to operate with Argon/CO2 shielding gas mixtures (typically 75-95% Argon), producing a spray transfer that is smooth, stable, and virtually spatter-free.

Welders will appreciate the fluid puddle characteristics of the Fabcor 86R. The wire provides excellent wetting action, which helps the weld metal wash in smoothly at the toes, reducing the risk of cold lap and stress concentrations. This is particularly beneficial in fillet welds and heavy groove welds found in structural applications. The "R" in 86R denotes its enhanced formulation for rust and mill scale tolerance.
