The Miller Multimatic 220 AC/DC (Stock Number 951000070) represents a significant advancement in light-industrial multiprocess welding technology, integrating MIG (GMAW), Flux-Cored (FCAW), DC Stick (SMAW), and AC/DC TIG (GTAW) into a compact inverter-based power source. This specific SKU includes the Miller Dual Cylinder Rack Cart (951770), designed to accommodate two gas cylinders (up to 7-inch diameter each), addressing the logistical challenge of managing distinct shielding gases for MIG and TIG processes simultaneously.
The power source delivers a versatile amperage range of 20–230 A. On 240V input, it provides a rated output of 200 A at 24 V (20% duty cycle) for MIG, and 210 A at 18.4 V (20% duty cycle) for TIG. The machine features two dedicated gas solenoid valves and inputs, allowing both 100% Argon and Argon/CO2 mix to remain connected. The QuickTech microprocessor control monitors trigger and foot pedal inputs to automatically switch the active process, polarity, and gas channel, eliminating the need for manual cable swapping or menu navigation between process changes.
Unlike standard multiprocess units, the Multimatic 220 offers comprehensive TIG wave-shaping controls essential for precision fabrication:
The unit is equipped with a standard 14-pin amphenol connector, ensuring compatibility with a wide range of Miller remote controls, including the included RFCS-14 HD foot pedal and optional wireless remotes. The wire drive system utilizes an angled, cast-aluminum drive assembly with the Quick Select drive roll system, supporting .024, .030, and .035-inch solid wires as well as flux-cored options. The machine is generator compatible, requiring a minimum of 10,000 Watts (10 kW) of clean power for full output stability.

Simple to use
I've only used it for a large mig project and it runs great.
I would recommend to a friend to buy.
Easy to set up and use. Does a great job.
Great Welder for all levels
I used this welder in a high school class and man its great! its super easy to switch between welding types and the interface is super easy to use. cannot fault this welder in any way.
I would and have recommended this machine
The welder is performing great. Just the right size to get around our facility.
Don't shop around, this is the one
From a hobbies welder in the garage, to welds that look and perform amazing now. Buy ones cry ones.
Best in the Business
As always, Miller is the absolute best you can buy. Great products and they stand behind them. Don't settle for less
Glad my Wife finally approved of my purchase
Works great so far for Mig and stick. I haven't had the chance to try out all the features but I love it so far.
Highly recommend
Worth Every Penny would highly recommend
Let me down
Lack of description on the working details of the machine. Did not know I could not use 1/8 tungsten and that the machine does not go fully to 220 amps. Just more let downs as usual from miller
Buy ones cry once
I just received mine and haven't used it yet but we have one at work that is a phenomenal machine. It is not for continuous high amp production work but that is not what it is designed for, we have dynasty 350s and synchowave 351s that perform flawlessly for the continuous heavy jobs. Mine shipped really fast from Bakers welding and I had it in 3 days in spite of a major winter storm hitting. Everything looks great and packaged extremely well. It also came with a very nice weldcraft a150 flex head Tig torch that I was not expecting. I got this welder to replace a tweco fabricator 211i that was going to cost too much to repair. I'm having to modify my cart a bit for it before I can set it up to use. Millers reputation, service/parts availability, generous rebate program, AC Tig and ability to run 6010 rods is the reason I went with this machine over cheaper ones.
